[Man at the scene: Testifies about the situation at the time]

A 21-year-old man from Fujieda City, who was with the man at the time of the incident, testified about the situation at the time.

According to the man, around 11:30 PM on the 14th, about 10 people who had met through social media and acquaintances gathered near the cliff where the incident occurred to celebrate a friend's birthday. They were playing around by throwing eggs and throwing ketchup at each other.

Regarding the situation at the time, the man said, "I was talking with someone when I returned to the parking lot and heard a big splash, so I went toward the ocean to see what was going on. I saw three people, including the deceased man, in the water, having fun. One of the men's expressions changed rapidly, and he started saying things like, 'It's dangerous!' and 'Help me!' So we tried to help him, but he was in the water and wearing his clothes, so we couldn't save him."

The man then told his friend to call the fire department. Firefighters performed a rescue operation and the man was found. However, the man was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was taken.

According to the man, the deceased man was unable to swim. "I don't think he would have gone into the water on his own. I thought someone had done it. I think he probably did it impulsively at first, but the fun atmosphere escalated and something like this happened. I'm filled with remorse, regret, and sadness."
