On March 5, 2023, the Hyogo Prefectural Police Nagata Station arrested a 65-year-old part-time worker living in Nagata Ward, Kobe City, on suspicion of violating the Hyogo Prefecture Nuisance Prevention Ordinance for repeatedly throwing tofu, raw eggs, tangerine (Mikan) peels, and other items at the home of a neighboring woman.

The arrest warrant alleges that between January 14 and February 20 of this year, the man threw tofu, tangerine peels, bread scraps, and raw eggs at the front door and hallway of the home of a 47-year-old female office worker and acquaintance who lives on the same floor of a public housing complex.

According to the police station, more than 10 incidents of these incidents have been confirmed near the woman's entrance since November of last year, both day and night. The man is said to have been constantly changing the items he was carrying, and one victim even had beer poured into his mouth.

The two men had been neighbors since last year and are believed to have had some kind of dispute. The perpetrator was identified through security camera footage. However, the man denied the charges, saying, "I have no recollection of this."
