At night, in my Japanese-style room, I watched the following film.
Recorded on a USB-HDD (registration number 3) connected to a DIGA (2017 model). Broadcast on NHK BS Premium (BS103) on February 27, 2023, at 9:00 PM.
Premium Cinema "Driving Miss Daisy" (1989, USA. Original language: English. Japanese subtitles).
A masterpiece. Simply superb.
Watching this film in 2026 as a Japanese person, I felt that it was about 50 years ahead of its time.
There are many points to discuss, but (especially in Japan and America) given the current political and social circumstances, all of them are "heavy" issues (race, religion, discrimination, aging of social minorities, single-person elderly households, caregiving, etc.), and are all issues that I cannot comment on lightly.
