 On July 30, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's 21st Air Wing (Tateyama City) dismissed a male seaman in his 20s from the 21st Maintenance and Supply Squadron for sexual harassment against multiple female crew members.

 According to the Air Group, between August 2017 and August 2020, while he was assigned to a unit outside the prefecture, the male chief petty officer broke into the women's locker room on multiple occasions, smearing semen on the uniform of a female fellow officer and stealing swimsuits, goggles, and other items.

 After being transferred to the same unit, he continued to steal another female officer's pouch and five boxes of masks (worth a total of approximately 1,900 yen) that the unit had procured.

 The female officer whose pouch was stolen consulted her superior, and an investigation by the military police unit uncovered the male chief petty officer. It also became clear that he had engaged in sexual harassment at his unit before his transfer.

 "When I checked the contents of the pouch, I found that it had been used by a female officer, so I felt the urge to try one myself. I wanted to add the swimsuits to my collection," he said.
