By the time the Hong Kong police cracked down on his campaign, it had garnered over 10,000 signatures.
Subsequently, a person claiming to be a former Tai Po resident resumed the petition on a different website, listing similar demands. As of December 1st, the petition had garnered over 9,000 signatures. Comments posted on the website include, "Hong Kongers demand truth and justice."

Authorities have arrested a former pro-democracy district council member in response to a massive fire in Hong Kong. Hong Kong police also released photos from inside the high-rise building where the fire broke out on the night of November 30th.
To date, 146 people have been confirmed dead in the fire. The whereabouts of approximately 40 others remain unknown.
Hong Kong police have arrested two people, including a former pro-democracy district council member, for "inciting hatred against the government."
Near the scene, volunteers initially distributed relief supplies. However, police removed the distribution center.
Hong Kong is scheduled to hold legislative elections on December 7th, excluding pro-democracy supporters. Police may be wary of public discontent over the fire being directed at the Hong Kong government.
